Edward John's arrival

Will had no idea how much his life was about to change on January 15. I'm not sure if he remembered that he had been taken from his bed in the middle of the night, but finding himself at Gramiam's and Grandpa Dave's house the next morning didn't seem to faze him. It was play as usual.

Will was soon to discover that winters' arrival wasn't the only exciting event to happen on this day! He was fascinated by the baby brother awaiting him when he returned home later. But then, I was too! My Eddie-bear was just as adorable as his older brother!!

Will's Second Christmas

The rest of us were never privy to the whispered conversation going on but perhaps Uncle Chris was asking permission to play with the new toys?

After tiring of that, a game of peak-a-boo from behind the Christmas tree was a lot of fun!

Tuesdays with Willy

Tuesdays were my favorite day of the week since, not only did David work from his home office, but we had Will for the entire day. Will was always in a good mood and easy to entertain. The family room was usually littered with toys but sneaking into the laundry room provided all kinds of new experiences!

Of course, the living room offered its share of possibilities!! Will's first self-appointed task upon arrival was to "baby-proof" the room by picking up and handing to me, for removal to a safe place, all the items he knew he was not allowed to play with.

Early December visit to Ottawa

We made an early December visit to Ottawa to give Sam and Will their Christmas gifts. Will was deep in thought about what to buy, but Sam wasted no time in putting all of his Christmas cash toward the purchase of Buddy, the gecko! He had already done a lot of research and knew exactly what he wanted and what equipment was needed.

Happy 1st Birthday, Will!!

Will seemed to be a little unsure at the beginning of his birthday party but it didn't take him long to "get it". All those presents really were for him and that cake......yummmy!! Well, you could keep the icing......

Janitor, anyone?

Will had an unexplained fascination with brooms and its location was one of the first things he checked out on arrival at our house. Eventually we purchased a smaller one that wasn't as dangerous a weapon. His preference always remained the larger of the two!

Where's Will??

A chair with a skirt provided a perfect hiding place.

Calling "Where's Will??" usually resulted in giggles from under the chair and then a sudden emergence with a "Here I am!" look.

A gardener in the making

Will was an early walker and he loved to carry things with him....the bigger the better. On this very warm October day he had fun pretending to water plants on our deck.

Summer visit to Ottawa

Unfortunately we don't get to Ottawa as often as we would like. But when we do, it's fabulous food, fishing and frogging, and fun!

Introduction to birding!

David was convinced that Will's first words would be "Black-capped Chicadee" or, at the very least, "birdie" so to that end we began his education in ornithology. Will seemed to be taking to it with great interest, but it was exhausting work. A break and some refreshment, and then back to it!

Learning to feed himself

Will never said no to food. Erin and Rich taught him to say "more" using sign language and it became the accepted code for "I'm hungry"!

Spring is for walks

I loved taking Will out in his stroller. He loved it too but it usually didn't take long before he drifted off to sleep. This was taken as soon as we returned home... bright-eyed and well rested.

Will and Grandpa Dave

Exactly 6 months old. How did he go from being a baby to a miniature adult so quickly??

Who's that kid in there...and do I like him?

About 5 months old, and already developing attitude!
Will would spend a lot of time in front of the mirrors on our front hall closet doors checking out that "other kid" in there........

Will and Richard

Will, at about 9 weeks, with Rich who is obviously enjoying being a Dad.

"Billy Ben's" first Christmas

Will appeared to be contemplating Christmas before it arrived, but he slept through most of Christmas Eve (comfortable in the arms of his Uncle Chris who nicknamed him Billy Ben) and through Christmas morning as well.

Introducing Sam and Will

When I married David I got not only a great husband but two wonderful grandsons! In fact Sam was the one who gave me the name Gramiam. It was unintentional .....it resulted when one day he started to say Grandpa Dave and Miriam and the two names got rolled into one. I loved it and immediately adopted the name.

Thanks Sam!

Will at 2 weeks

This is Will at about 2 weeks old.....just a preview of what an adorable kid he is to become!
